Archives of a Water Circuit
Oil on canvas
96 x 264cm
2015
Archives of a Water Circuit explores the immensely different images that the singular substance of water could conjure. Each piece was painted on-site by a drainage canal for 3 hours within a 24-hour period. The site was specially selected as it holds personal significance for me.
Documenting the implicit differences of its water surface throughout the course of a day, a newfound appreciation for the mundane canal is formed through an alternatively personal perspective.
A story about this work was published in AKAR: Motion.
